Mission Tile-Top Tables

The Mission style collectors and connoisseurs love gets a beautifully modern upgrade in five occasional pieces, each featuring an inset tile top. Hand-carved tiles, designed by our Director of Design Marissa Brown, are created exclusively for Stickley by North Prairie Tileworks. Each table is handcrafted in Upstate New York of sustainably sourced solid cherry or quartersawn white oak; a custom-selected Stickley hand-applied finish makes it unique.

The Tiles

Founded in 1992, North Prairie Tileworks supplies custom, handmade tiles in classic and modern styles to clients nationwide. The tiles they create for our tables feature a contemporary leaf pattern and are hand-glazed in two beautiful Arts and Crafts–inspired shades of green.

The Process

These curated, contemporary tiles are hand carved before glaze is applied via a double-dipping process. The light, organic leaf motif, paired with the simple diagonal design, is a gorgeous update to heavier traditional Arts and Crafts tile pieces. The possibilities for creating unique patterns are endless.

Mission Style

The tiles are set into a variety of solid oak or cherry tables crafted with classic Arts and Crafts techniques. Pinned mortise-and-tenon joinery, side-hung and center-guided drawers, and splined corners are unmistakable signs of Mission quality and style.
